Dr. Eliot Forbes (Racing Australia Retirement of Racehorse Committee and Racing Queensland)
Eliot Forbes is the CEO of the Racing Queensland, the state racing authority for thoroughbred, harness and greyhound racing while also serving as Chairman of Racing Australia’s national Retirement of Racehorses Committee. Previously the CEO of the state racing authority in Tasmania (Tasracing), Eliot was the long-running Chief Veterinary Officer for the world’s richest race, the $10m Dubai World Cup.
Eliot holds a Masters of Business Administration from La Trobe University, an honours degree in Veterinary Science from the University of Queensland, is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has studied with the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts.
Eliot is an executive director of Racing Australia, a director of Greyhounds Australasia and a member of the CEO committee of Harness Racing Australia (HRA). He maintains a passionate interest in horse welfare and is a member of the Veterinary and Analysts committees of each code of racing and a member of HRA’s Standardbred Welfare Advisory Group.
