Ms Hazel Kayiya joined The National Horseracing Authority (NHA) in 2018 as the NHA Racing Administration Executive. Ms Kayiya manages the Racing Administration portfolio which includes management of the Stud Book, Information Services and Registration and Licensing departments.
Prior to this Ms Kayiya worked at The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), as Manager – Racing Authority (External). Amongst her other duties Ms Kayiya undertook the Secretariat function for the Asian Racing Federation. Prior to joining the HKJC, Ms Kayiya was employed by Gold Circle and has held several positions including Corporate Services Executive and Risk and Assurance Audit Manager.
Ms Kayiya holds a Bachelor of Commerce Accounting & Finance and Bachelor of Commerce Honours Accounting. In addition, Ms Kayiya completed the certificate in Thoroughbred Stud Management offered by Summerhill Stud, holds a certificate in Project Management and completed the MIT Sloan Business Process Design for Strategic Management program.
Ms Kayiya has also been a member of the Institute of International Auditors (SA), Institute of Risk Management South Africa and South African Institute of Professional Accountants. Ms Kayiya is currently the representative for South Africa and Zimbabwe at the International Stud Book Committee and European and African Stud Book Committee.
